“Naku, Richard Gomez yan, magiging choosy pa ba ko?” she says. “Also, when I accepted this, I knew may ganun kaming scenes. I saw his movies and TV shows as I was growing up and it feels great na siya ang una kong naka-love scene as he’s very considerate. Actually, he played my dad nga in ‘Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw’ sa GMA when I was just starting my showbiz career. Ngayon, kabit na niya ko at ka-love scene ko pa. He made me feel relaxed muna before it was shot.”
We asked Richard how is it kissing Valerie? “Mahusay siyang humalik,” he laughs. “And she acts well also. Properly motivated by our director, Jon Red, siya ang aggressive dito. Actually, suwerte ko dahil hindi lang siya makakahalikan ko rito but also Carla Humphries. They’re both very professional kahit sa maiinit na eksena. Sa story, Ruffa Gutierrez is my wife, but wala na siyang time as she’s so busy with her work, kaya ayan, I bed younger women.”
Doesn’t Congresswoman Lucy Torres get jealous? “She knows trabaho lang ito. Walang personalan. Alam din niyang I really miss doing dramas like this.”
It’s Ruffa who said she got worried after watching the no-holds-barred love scene of Richard and Valerie. “I didn’t know puede na pala yung ganun sa TV. Sabi ko, papasa ba yan sa MTRCB? Kasi noong araw, sa pelikula lang ginagawa yan, pero ngayon, sa TV na rin, siguro because of the very tough competition.”
If she’d be required to do a scene like that, would she do it? “Even before, I never did such hot love scenes kaya nga bilib ako kay Valerie. I guess conservative pa kami noon. So at this point, I don’t think I can do it. What will my daughters say?”
