Derrick Monasterio, son of Sen. Ping Lacson?

WHAT CAN newcomer Derrick Monasterio say about the rumor that his real biological father is Sen. Ping Lacson? “Hindi ko na lang po pinapansin kasi hindi naman talaga totoo,” he said when we talked to him on the set of “Dwarfina” that will be on its last two weeks of telecast. “Ni ayoko ngang pag-usapan yan para hindi na lang lumaki. Ang real dad ko po is a foreigner, a Jamaican American. Maski sa hitsura, ang layo naman ng hitsura ko sa sinasabi nilang tunay kong ama, di ba?”

We agree. What does his mom, former sexpot Tina Monasterio, say about it? “Wala po, ni hindi namin talaga pinag-uusapan yan kahit sa bahay.”

Derrick is obviously a lucky charm to the newcomers he’s paired with in “Tween Hearts”. When the show started, he was paired with Louise de los Reyes, who eventually left him to be launched as the lead star in “Alakdana”. He was given a new partner, Kylie Padilla, who was also paired with him “Dwarfina”. Now, Kylie is leaving him again to be launched as the lead star in the remake of “Blusang Itim” that will replace “Alakdana”. “Opo nga, lagi na lang akong naiiwan. Sabi, baka masama rin ako ni Kylie sa ‘Blusang Itim’, pero wala pa pong formal na abiso sa akin.”

We heard replacing Kylie as his leading lady in “Tween Hearts” is Krystal Reyes who just came from “Bantatay”. But Kyrstal won’t be his alone as she’s also paired with Derrick’s colleague, Kristoffer Martin, in the primetime show, “Munting Heredera”, that will replace “Dwarfina”.
