Bong Revilla and Cong. Lani Mercado, who have made it a tradition for their whole family to spend Lent in Boracay for six years now. They are now busy preparing for their 25th wedding anniversary celebration on May28. “Tinago noon ang non-sectarian wedding namin in California in 1986 kasi we were both so young at action star ako, sabi baka maapektuhan ang career ko noon,” Bong now admits.
“But we later had a Catholic wedding at the Imus Cathedral in 1998,” says Lani. “Big accomplishment for us that we’re still together after 25 years at nalampasan namin lahat ng trials na dumaan sa amin.”
“And I’m so happy that as we celebrate our silver wedding, nandiyan pa rin ang daddy ko (Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr.) to celebrate it with us,” adds Bong.
