AFTER HE WAS introduced in “Survivor Philippines”, Ervic Vijandre now tries his first acting job as one of the villains in “Captain Barbell”. “I play Kidlat, a superhero who moves so fast like lightning,” he says. “Kalaban ako rito ni Richard Gutierrez.”
So how is his experience as an actor so far? “Wala talaga sa plano kong mag-artista. I was into basketball and modelling, but now that I’m here, masaya. I’m glad siyang katrabaho ko dahil he’s our host noon sa ‘Survivor’ at magkakilala na kami. Ang iba pang co-stars ko rito, mga kasama ko rin sa ‘Survivor’ like Akihiro Sato, Jon Hall, Michelle Madrigal, and Solenn Heussaff, kaya parang reunion namin ito and comfortable ako with them. Even the staff and our director (Dominic Zapata), very considerate at maalaga sa isang newcomer like me. Enjoy ako.”
He was linked a few weeks ago to SexBomb dancer Aifah Medina who was once JC De Vera’s squeeze. So how are they now. “Wala, I’m now single,” he says. “Please don’t ask na lang why. Never kaming naging officially on, just exclusively dating. We still hang out and we realized we’re better off as friends lang.”
He requested the press not to ask him about ex-GF Marian Rivera as some folks are accusing him of using her just to be talked about, but they won’t let him off the hook that easily. Was he really shocked when he and Marian met at the GMA lobby some months ago? “Yes, nagkagulatan. Kasi seven years kami, tapos nun ko lang siya nakita uli so na-tense ako, nanlamig ako. But we said Hi to each other.”
So how does he feel about her now? “I can see she’s happy, very successful siya, so I’m happy for her.” What about Dingdong Dantes? “Kilala ko siya dahil sikat siya, but we’ve never been introduced personally. I wish her and Marian the best. Kita namang masaya sila sa isa’t isa.” Will he be willing to work with them? “Why not? Trabaho lang yun. But will they be willing to work with a newcomer like me?”
