GMA Award Winning documentaries rewind on air this weekend

THE SHOWS OF GMA News and Public Affairs that won awards in the recent 2011 New York Festivals will be reshown this weekend, led by “Biyaheng Totoo”, a 10-part series on good governance that won the Silver World Medal for Special Reports, GMA also won the Bronze World Medal in the Social Issues and Current Events Category for Kara David’s I-Witness documentary entitled “Paraisong Uhaw.”

In “Biyaheng Totoo”, ten journalists trek to remote villages to find out what forgotten Filipinos really need from their elected officials. The reporters’ insights are captured in a travel journal. “Biyaheng Totoo”, the New York Fest silver medal winner, will run from 1 to 2 pm on Holy Thursday and again from 8:45 to 9:45 pm on Good Friday. Kara David taps into the lives of Sampad, Masbate residents who have no access to clean running water in “Paraisong Uhaw”, to be shown 8:30 pm on GMA News TV on Black Saturday.
