Rhian Ramos on being bested by Iza Calzado in role for I Heart You Pare

RHIAN RAMOS was considered to replace Regine Velasquez in “I Heart You Pare” but she was bested by Iza Calzado. How does she feel about it? “Naku, don’t ask me na lang about that,” she says at the launch of PLDT Awesome Hunt. “Hindi ko rin naman basta magagawa kasi I still appear every now and then in ‘Captain Barbell’. Even if I died sa pilot episode, I still appear in flashback scenes at sa dreams ni Richard Gutierrez. I’m so busy rin naman ngayon with ‘In the Limelight’ on GMA News TV and I’m shooting two films, ‘Ang Panday, Ikalawang Yugto’ and the indie film ‘Saving Sally’, a combination of live and animation scenes. May scenes ako in ‘Saving Sally’ na ako lang mag-isa at puro chroma ang involved for special effects.”

She’s also glad to be the anchor of PLDT Awesome Hunt. “This isn’t just an ordinary contest as it’ll be on the net for a long time. You can read the blogs of the contestants and learn a lot from it about our country. I believe in its goal to help promote the different scenic spots here and show how beautiful our country is.”

The 8 celebrity teams who joined the hunt are Marco Alcaraz and Bela Padilla who went to Butuan City, Ryza Cenon and VJ Ton Vergel de Dios (Dumaguete), Luis Alandy and JV Fernandez (Las Pinas), China Cojuangco and Carlos Celdran (Quezon City), Steven Silva and Daiana Menezes (Marikina), Dolly Ann Carvajal and son IC Mendoza (Laguna), DJ Mojo Jojo and Jane Chua (Rizal), and Mark Herras and car drifter Alex Perez (Cavite.) When they go to the place assigned to them, they look for hidden gems in a historical landmark, a barangay hall, a restaurant and a novelty shop, then they write a travel blog about their experiences.
