ALJUR ABRENICA usually plays poor boy roles so his role in “Temptation Island” as an English-speaking cono kid from a wealthy family is something new to him. “Maraming tongue-twisting English words that I deliver, pero kayak o naman. I took a workshop with Direk Freddie Santos for the English lines kaya di ako nag-nosebleed,” he laughs. “We all have to work hard for the necessities of life.”
What’s more, he’s a male virgin in the story? “Yes, di pa ko nakakatikim and it’s Lovi Poe who’ll seduce me kahit alam niyang on kami rito ni Heart Evangelista. Sumama loob ni Heart kasi bumigay ako kay Lovi.”
Since he’s now endorsing a hotdog brand, he gets a lot of ribbing about his hotdog. Tot star Jillian Ward calls him Kuya Hotdog. “Nakakatuwa nga. Mas nakilala ko dahil sa endorsement ko. May tawag ding Hotdog King. Okay lang.”
Rich Asuncion says she doesn’t eat hotdogs. “Let’s respect her. Hayaan na lang natin siya.”
Won’t he convince her to try his hotdog? “No, ever since, di ako namimilit. Respetuhan lang.”
How about Ai Ai de las Alas? Will he make her taste his hotdog? “Why not? I’ll send it to her.”
He’s glad to get the chance to work not only with Heart and Lovi in “Temptation Island” but also with Marian Rivera and Solenn Heussaff. Which one does he like best? “Lahat sila, walang tulak-kabigin. Pero lahat sila, di na available, di ba? Marian is hot and girlfriend material, pero may Kuya Dingdong na. Si Lovi, sexy talaga, but committed na rin. Si Heart naman, girl next door type, may Daniel na. Si Solenn is every man’s fantasy. May magagalit na rin diyan. So, hanggang katrabaho ko na lang sila.”
