ANGEL LOCSIN wants to downplay her alleged romance with Azkal football player Phil Younghusband who allegedly surprised her by following her to Hongkong last Good Friday, April 22, then gave her an expensive Diane Von Furstenberg handbag when she celebrated her birthday on April 23. They were with Angel’s good friend, Bubbles Paraiso. On her actual birthday, Angel chose to spend it at the Golden Acres Home for the Aged, bringing food and entertaining the senior citizens there. Phil was with her there again but if you’d ask Angel what’s the real score between them, all she’d say is that “he simply makes me happy.”
Fotos of their trip to Hongkong and also in Macau were posted on the internet by Filipinos who saw them there together but Angel would rather not talk about this. This is understandable as she’s promoting her movie with Aga Muhlach, “In the Name of Love”. Phil and their alleged romance might just alienate prospective viewers of the movie. But Angel admits that they exchange text messages frequently and that Phil visits her at home and has met her whole family. She appreciates this very much, his being brave enough to face all her family members. And yes, she is inviting him to the film’s premiere night on Tuesday.
“In the Name of Love” is a romantic drama and Angel plays Cedes, a young woman torn between two lovers: Dylan (Jake Cuenca), the governor’s son to whom she is engaged, and Emman (Aga Muhlach), the former dance instructor who is hired to choreographed her dance number with Dylan in the Governor’s Ball. Complications occur when Cedes falls for Emman and their lives will be changed forever. This is directed by Olivia Lamasan, who also co-wrote the script with Enrico Santos. The theme song is “Love Story”, from the original Hollywood movie of the same title that starred Ryan O’Neal and Ali McGraw, now sung by Gary V. Also in the cast are Bobby Andrews, Smokey Manaloto, Dante Rivero, Ryan Eigenmann, Dimples Romana, Carmi Martin, Emilio Garcia, and Michael Flores.
