Has he ever been under to wife Sunshine Cruz? “Aminado ako, nangyayari yun. You’d realize after a while na, oo nga, na-under ako. When we’re abroad, si Sunshine, hindi marunong maglaba yan o mamalantsa, so tinturuan ko, and I end up doing it, lalo na ironing clothes. She has small porcelain hands. Baka masunog pa, di I’ll have perpetual guilt feelings about it.”
He’s been paired before in a sitcom with Maricel Soriano, who’s noted for comic roles. How is it now working with Iza who’s better known in drama? “No problem kasi sa acting, if you’re good in drama, kukunin mo lang yung kabila to do comedy. And Iza is a fast learner so I have no doubt she’ll soon be as good as past comediennes like the late Patsy and Chichay.”
Gloria Romero, who has won awards in both drama and comedy and plays Iza’s grandma in the show, adds: “It’s easy for Iza to do comedy as she’s such an intelligent actress.”
As Andy, Cesar plays a bouncer in the show. Iza as Matilde Golpe de Oro gets drunk in their club and he takes her home after she passed out. Gloria then forces him to marry her in a shotgun wedding as she spent the night with him. This results to a problematic situation aggravated by the people around them, including Caridad Sanchez as Cesar’s mom, Fabio Ide as Iza’s ex-BF, Mike Pecto Nacua as Cesar’s best friend, Chariz Salomon as Gloria Romero’s sidekick, Elmo Magalona as a teenager neighbour in love with Julie Anne San Jose who’s Cesar’s younger sister, and Jillian Ward as Cesar’s naughty niece.
