GLAIZA DE CASTRO already played the lead in “Grazilda” so folks are asking why she agreed to be demoted playing villain to Marian Rivera in “Amaya” that starts airing tomorrow after “Captain Barbell”. “First of all, I want to make it clear na hindi kontrabida yung role ko dito as Binayaan,” she says. “Rochelle Pangilinan and I are half sisters of Ate Marian, but it’s Rochelle who’s kontra to her, not me. Ako yung princess na magiging Babaylan or female priest kaya nga may sarili akong song dito na china-chant ng Babaylan. Also, okay lang sa’king mag-support kasi Marian Rivera naman yan and I’m glad to get the chance to work with her for the first time. And ‘Amaya’ is such a really big project so I’m happy to be a part of this epic that starts airing tomorrow night.”
So how is it working with Marian? “Okay siyang katrabaho kasi generous siyang kaeksena. Tutulungan ka niyang humugot ng sarili mong emosyon. I did hear negative things about her but honestly, wala akong nakikita. Totoong tao siya and she’s very good as Amaya.”
After Felix Rocco, how come no one’s linked to her? “It’s my choice. Ang dami kong trabaho, e, which is good kasi binabayaran ko yung bagong bahay naming sa may Commonwealth Avenue. Aside from ‘Amaya’, I’m in three new movies. I’m in Director Quark Henares’ ‘Rakenrol’ with Jason Abalos, Alwyn Uytingco and Diether Ocampo. I have two entries naman in Cinemalaya to be shown this July. I play a teacher in Mindanao with Marvin Agustin, Ciara Sotto and Allen Dizon in ‘Patikul’, directed by Joel Lamangan. Kasali rin ako sa ‘E-Libing’ ng isang bagong director.”<
