Ian Batherson dropped from doing lead role in Sisid

STARSTRUCK V discovery Ian Batherson’s career is finally taking off. After Mother Lily signed him up to a contract along with other Men of Desire, he now gets his biggest break on TV in the new GMA-7 afternoon soap, “Sisid”, that replaces “My Lover, My Wife” starting monday. Ian has a Bicolana mom and a British dad. He grew up in he U.S. so he doesn’t speak fluent Tagalog but he’s trying his best to learn it well.

In “Sisid”, he plays the best friend of Dominic Roco, who’s paired with Jackie Rice. “Originally, I was meant to play Dominic’s role as a rich guy who goes to Jackie’s island and falls in love with her,” he says. “But because my Tagalog is not good, the role went to Dominic. Okay lang. It’s not really meant for me. Kaya nga, I should just polish my Tagalog more.”

Working with Jackie Rice in “Sisid” is a dream come true for him. “Secret admirer na niya ako even then kasi nagagandahan talaga ako sa kanya so I really welcome the chance of being able to work with her,” he says.

Now that Regal is launching him as a sexy star, how far is he willing to go? “I can appear in underwear or show my backside as I do it naman in fashion shows. But yung harap, hindi puede.”
