MOTHER LILY invited us to join her when she visited Gov. Vilma Santos in Batangas last week but we begged off as we said yes to four presscons invites that day. We learned it’s Mother Lily who’s acting as a broker-mediator for Gov. Vi to join TV5 and do a movie that’s a co-production with Regal and Studio 5, the film company of Manny Pangilinan. They’ve already had a meeting with Gov. Vi about this and she’s amenable to the project since she’s not really under contract with ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema. She has seen Studio 5’s first film project, “
Rosario”, and she’s impressed as they really didn’t scrimp on the budget. But Gov. Vi requested that she be given the full script of the movie intended for her and, after she has read and evaluated it, then she agrees to meet with them again to finalize plans. Gov. Vi is very flattered when Mr. Pangilinan offered to help her in some of her projects for the improvement of Batangas.
