WHO ARE THE various superheroes in “Captain Barbell”? There are so many of them so let’s make a summary for you. The Liga ng Kalayaan is headed by Eddie Gutierrez as Gen. Armando with Bianca King as Larry, the assistant (but she’ll leave soon as she’s being launched to stardom in “Sentensyada”.) In their league is Richard Gutierrez in the title-role, Captain Barbell, who’s invincible. Then come Michelle Madrigal as Anita who turns to Cyclone with the power to control the wind and whose spit can melt metal and kill her foes, Frencheska Farr as Celina who turns to Sonica with a voice that turns into powerful sound waves, Bea Binene as Misha who turns to Blade Girl who’s an expert with her magic sword, Jake Vargas as Alden who turns into Spin Boy with a spinning top that harbors kinetic energy, and Ellen Adarna as Kat who turns to Fuega with the power to create and control fire.
The bad guys of the Puwersa ng Kadiliman is headed by Christopher de Leon as Nero who uses advanced technology to wreak havoc on mankind. His assistant is Steff Prescott as Eva who invents destructive weapons used by the puwersa. Their supervillains are: Mike Tan as Teban who turns to Anino with the power of molecular manipulation that can make him go through walls. TJ Trinidad as Gregor who turns to Metal Man whose iron body gives him super strength, Elvis Gutierrez as Gaston who turns to Black Angel with a body emitting black power that can create weapons, Ervic Vijandre as Ricky who turns to Kidlat with the power of lightning, and Paolo Paraiso as Rodel who turns to Buhangin or Sandman. New characters are Sam Pinto as Sammy who turns to Higanta (a giant woman 50 ft. tall.) and Akihiro Sato as Bruno who turns to Spike whose body is full of spikes or thorns that he uses as a weapon.
