Barbie is one of the two Tween Stars who won at the 1st Yahoo Phil, OMG Awards. She won as the Most Animated Celebrity of the Night while Alden Richards won as Most Amazing Male Newcomer, based on polling trends. “Nagulat ako when they called me,” said Barbie, who rose to fame when she played the young Rhian Ramos in “Stairway to Heaven” then starred in her own hit shows like “First Time”, “Pilyang Kerubin”, “Nita Negrita” and the Sunday youth series, “Reel Love presents Tween Hearts.”
She and Joshua did their first film together, “Panday at Enteng Kabisote”, last December. They now star on their own in “Tween Academy Class of 2012”. “I play Kara, a cos player who competes as Super Girl,” she says. “Si Josh, magiging friend ko sa internet without knowing we study in the same school. Aside from this, I’m also doing a horror movie, ‘The Road’, for Direk Yam Laranas pero di ko kasama rito si Josh but Derrick Monasterio. Paghihiwalayin muna raw kami.”
