BELA PADILLA replaced LJ Reyes as contravida to Jackie Rice in “Sisid” that rated a high 17.9% household share per AGB Nielsen Surveys. LJ was taken out of “Sisid” to be part of the danceserye, “Jump”, with Mark Herras and Rocco Nacino. How does Bela feel that she’s already a leading lady as Aginaya in “Machete” but she’s now back playing a villain role in “Sisid”? “That’s just fine with me,” she says. “Nagcontravida rin naman ako noon as Yumi in ‘Endless Love’ at maganda ang feedback so okay lang. I want to be known as someone who can do both lead and villain roles convincingly.”
She was included as one of the newcomers in Yes Mag’s Next Big Thing list and is now one of the nominees in FHM’s 100 sexiest. “Thank you very much, but these are just icings on the cake. I love my work so much and my goal is to be recognized as a competent and versatile actress. I want my acting to be appreciated not only here but also abroad so I’m praying I’d be given the chance to do indie films that will be shown in international film festivals.”
In “Sisid”, she plays the city girl who will make village lass Jackie Rice’s life miserable. This is because she has the hots for Dominic Roco but Dominic falls in love with Jackie instead.
