Bembol Roco rates Jackie Rice as an actress

BEMBOL ROCO is glad that after playing the gay role of Anya in “Beauty Queen”, he now plays the very macho husband of Alicia Meyer in “Sisid”. “Maganda ang feedback sa first time kong pagbabading, pero siempre, mas gusto ko pa rin ang roles na lalaki ako,” he laughs. Being an actor-director himself, how is their “Sisid” director, Ricky Davao, doing in the show? “He’s okay, he’s doing his best and I’m sure he’ll get even better as the show goes on. Dahil nga artista rin siya, he knows how to get the best from his actors here na mostly mga baguhan.”

What does he think of Jackie Rice in the lead role? “I like her willingness to learn. As Eden, mahirap ang role niya. She goes through a lot of hardships. Sumama siya sa Manila sa anak kong si Dominic pero pinaglalaro sila ni Alicia. What’s worse, ang father niya sa isla, Daniel Fernando, ginamit namin in searching for the giant pearl called perlante and he dies. She’s forced to leave Dominic and return to the island, getting so mad when she learned her father died because of the parents of the man she loves. Si Alicia naman, itatago na si Dominic away from her to separate them for good.”
