Bianca King's detractors say she doesn't deserve to play a lead role

BIANCA KING says that she talked to Iza Calzado first before accepting the lead role in “Sinner or Saint”. “I know it was offered to her first so kinausap ko muna siya as she’s a dear friend,” she says. “She said nga she also just started ‘Andres de Saya’ and she’s hosting ‘Eat Bulaga’, may movies pa siya, so di niya kaya. But I was so happy when she said natutuwa siyang sa’kin napunta ang project. Sabi niya, it’s a victory for both of us as she feels it’s the right launching project for me after I played nothing but villain and supporting roles.”

What can she say to detractors who think she doesn't deserve to play a lead role? "I'll just consider it a challenge and prove to them na may K naman akong magbida. Gagalingan ko na lang ang acting ko."

That the role was given to her came as a total surprise. “Kasi may continuing role ako sa ‘Captain Barbell’ as assistant ni Tito Eddie Gutierrez, so I never expected I’d even be consider for this role. Sabi ko nga, blessing talaga ito kasi I never even dreamt about it tapos biglang sa’kin napunta. It’s a humbling experience kaya panay ang pasasalamat ko kay Lord at sa GMA-7 na rin for giving me this wonderful break.”

She felt awed when she saw the full trailer with her as Noemi, an oppressed slum girl who grew up tormented by her aunt, Dexter Doria, and who pinned her hopes on her boyfriend, Dennis Trillo. “I give all my earnings to him para makatapos siya ng law. But when he accidentally killed my uncle, inako ko yung krimen para hindi siya mabilanggo, thinking he’ll defend me as a laywer, but he met Alessandra de Rossi na mayaman at nalimutan na niya ako. Sobrang heavy drama ito and there are intense scenes na very emotionally demanding talaga kaya feeling ko tuloy, parang beginner lang ako sa acting. Kung dati, sanay na akong nang-aapi, ngayon, akong inaapi. Kaya I always have to remind myself na dapat, hindi matapang ang rehistro ng mukha ko kundi laging maamo. Mahirap din pala maging kawawa.”
