Derrick Monasterio likes Bea Binene

DERRICK MONASTERIO is one lucky newcomer. After being introduced in “Tween Hearts”, he’s now also in “Sinner or Saint”, shooting two new movies for GMA Films, “Tween Academy, Class of 2012” and ‘The Road’, and recording his first album, a co-production between GMA Records and another recording company. Since when has he been singing? “Since I was 7 years old,” he says. “I was a member of the Kilyawan Choir in Claret School. We won in international competitions in Xiamen, China and in Vienna, Austria. Natigil lang ako in second year high school kasi I joined showbiz na.”

He has no permanent ka-love team and he prefers it that way. “Mahirap if you’re identified with just one partner. Right now, I’m paired with Kylie Padilla in ‘Tween Hearts’, with Lexi Fernandez in ‘Tween Academy’ and ‘The Road’, and Kim Komatsu in ‘Sinner or Saint’.” But it’s reported that his real squeeze is Bea Binene? “Hindi po. Friends lang kami lahat. Trabaho lang po. Ang daming trabahong mas dapat bigyan ng atensiyon.”

His real life mom, Tina Monasterio is now acting with him in “Tween Hearts”. How is it? “Nakakailang po. Pag pinipingot niya ko sa eksena, tinotoo niya kaya napapa-aray talaga ako at pagkatapos, ang pula-pula ng tenga ko.”
