JOLINA MAGDANGAL clarified in “Showbiz Central” that she and fiancé Mark Escueta don’t have a definite wedding date yet. “May nag-suggest na 11-11-11 daw kasi magandang date, pero ayaw naming madaliin matuloy lang this year,” she says. “As of now, ninanamnam ko pa yung ligaya ng engagement namin. But si Mark, gumawa na ng chart concerning the wedding. Tuwing may naisip kasi kong suggestion, nililista niya.”
Jolina’s dad, Daddy Jun, narrated in “Showbiz Central” that Mark informed them first that he’ll be proposing to Jolina and even showed the ring to him and Jolina’s mom. But the actual proposal took place five days later. Mark wanted to do it in a park but it’s been raining so he waited for the weather to clear up first. He finally got to propose in a park at Tahanan Village in Paranaque where he lives with his family. His dad, Commissioner Eduardo Escueta, is vice chairman of the National Police Commission.
“Hindi lang ako naiyak when he gave me the ring, napahagulgol ako talaga,” says Jolens. “Matunog ako sa ganito, e. But this one, di ko talaga natunugan. Wala akong kakutob-kutob na isu-surprise niya ako. Buti na lang, kaming dalawa lang talaga when he proposed. Kung may ibang tao roon, naku, nakakahiya kasi wala akong ka-poise-poise sa pag-iyak ko. Napakasaya kasi for a girl yung makatanggap ng ganung proposal.”
What kind of wedding does she have in mind. “Yung simple lang, pero masaya at malamig yung lugar para comfortable ang guests. Natutuwa ako kasi very proud si Mark nang i-present niya ko sa ‘Party Pilipinas’ and since then, puro positive ang feedback sa’min ng mga tao. Walang kumokontra kaya lalo kaming nai-inspire. I’m so happy kasi he’ll not just be a husband but also my best friend.”
Their marriage has a good chance of being for keeps since they’re both of the right age. Mark is 35 and Jolina is 32, so they’re both mature and no longer just rushing into a relationship.
