“Ayoko sanang pag-usapan yan dito bilang respeto kina Mother Lily at sa GMA Films para positive vibes lahat,” she says. “Kaya lang , laging nauungkat so gusto kong linawin na wala kaming pinag-awayan. Walang away na nangyari sa amin. Sa set, nag-uusap kami lahat, ang saya-saya naming nagsu-shooting, pero pagdating sa airport, nagulat na lang ako kasi parang di niya ako kaibigan. Na-shocked ako, buti na lang nandun si Lovi to comfort me sa nangyari. Akala ko talaga, maayos kami, walang issue. Tanungin nyo ang cast and staff, sila ang magpapatunay kung may nangyari nga sa amin.”
When they got to Manila, didn’t she see Heart again? “Wala ng chance, di na kami nagkita, umalis na siya.”
What did she learn from the incident? “Ang laki ng pasasalamat ko sa Diyos na pinalaki ako ng lola ko na may respeto sa matatanda.”
Wasn’t she the one who convinced Heart to accept “Temptation Island”? “O, sa inyo nanggaling yan, ha. Ako nga ang kumumbinsi sa kanyang tanggapin ang role, inalalayan ko siya, pinagtatanggol ko siya, akala ko friend ko siya, hindi pala. Hindi ko kawalan,” she got emotional at this point and cried.
What can their co-stars say about this? “I really didn’t notice anything sa set,” says Solenn Heussaff. “We’re a small cast, so kung may nangyayari, we’d see it, so nagulat na lang din ako when we got to the airport.” “Na-shocked din ako,” says Rufa Mae. “Wala rin kasi akong napansing nangyari sa kanila sa shooting, but I’m hoping magkaayos pa sana sila kasi sayang naman ang samahan.”
“Wala rin akong napansin kasi ang saya-saya namin sa Ilocos,” says Tom Rodriguez. “We all had a good time.”
GMA Films and Regal Entertainment sent an official statement about the issue: “We acknowledge that there was a recent incident involving Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista that happened during the shooting of Temptation Island in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. This unfortunate matter caused stress to both Marian and Heart and Heart made this known to her parents. However, the production team intervened and was able to handle the situation. Both Marian and Heart tried to put the issue behind them. The producers would like to assure the fans that this minor incident did not in any way affect the shooting of Temptation Island and also request all their supporters and followers to put a closure to this episode. We are excited for the showing of the movie and we encourage all the fans and moviegoers to watch the film on July 6.”
