WE’RE HAPPY to see Maricel Soriano guesting in “Party Pilipinas” and doing her signature dance moves in “Rico Mambo” and “Body Body Dancer”. This disproves the rumor that she’s languishing in a hospital basement undergoing rehab for alcoholism. Like what she said then, “Wala ako sa basement, nakatira ako sa penthouse sa Rockwell.” She looks slim and pretty, not at all look like someone in her early 40s. We hope GMA-7 will give her a new and meaty assignment after she guested in “Pilyang Kerubin” last year. Maricel was absent at the special screening of her 1981 Regal youth movie, “Summer Love”, at CCP last Saturday night. But her co-star there, Snooky Serna, was there and revealed that Marya is now happily engaged, but she didn’t say to who and whether a wedding is now in the offing.
