Mother Lily has three entries in MMFF 2011

WE CONGRATULATED Mother Lily at the announcement of the 8 chosen official entries for the December Metro Manila Filmfest. Three of them are hers. One is solely produced by Regal, “Shake, Rattle & Roll 13”. One is Regal’s co-production with TV5, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. The last one is co-production with SMDC (who co-produced “Who’s That Girl” with Viva), “Hototay”. “Shake” is a trilogy: “Lunod” starring Eugene Domingo and directed by Chris Martinez, “Tamawo” directed by Richard Somes starring Maricar Reyes, and “Parola” by Jerrold Tarog (who did the hit “Funeraria” in “Shake 12”) starring Lovi Poe, Kathryn Bernardo and Albie Casino. “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” is a title used by Regal before in a drama starring Vilma Santos and Maricel Soriano. This time, Mother Lily is trying to get Ate Vi again but the Batangas governor has not given her nod. Maybe if she’d tell Ate Vi that the movie is about fishkills, she might agree to do it as it’s very relevant to Batangas now. The tentative cast includes Dennis Trillo, Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana and TV5 discovery Ritz Azul. “Hototay” is a comedy to be megged by Joel Lamangan and included in the cast is Lovi Poe (who’s in the cast of all Mother Lily’s films now including “Temptation Island”, “My Neighbor’s Wife” and “Aswang”) along with Ruffa Gutierrez, Andi Eigenmann and John Lapus. The other selected entries are “Segunda Mano” starring Kris Aquino and Dingdong Dantes, produced by Edgar Mangahas of MJM Productions that also produced Kris’ “Dalaw” last year; “Ang Panday II” with Bong Revilla, Marian Rivera and Iza Calzado directed by Mac Alejandre; “My Househusband” of OctoArts Films starring Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo and Eugene Domingo, directed by Joey Reyes; “Mr. Wong” with Robin Padilla (they’re trying to get Angelica Panganiban as leading lady, to be megged by Trina Dayrit and Rechie Del Carmen; and “Enteng ng Ina Mo”, co-production between ABS-CBN and M-Zet Prods. Starring Vic Sotto and Ai Ai de las Alas, directed by Tony Reyes. Two films didn’t make it: “Kingpin: Asiong Salonga Story” starring Laguna Gov. ER Ejercito directed by Tikoy Aguiluz (to bad as this is already being shot) and “Love Will Lead You Back” of CineMedia Films starring Judy Ann Santos and Coco Martin.
