He’s glad that his new show, “Futbolilits”, will be occupying the slot of his former hit show, “Bantatay”, which is before “24 Oras”. “Bagong challenge ito dahil consistent na mataas ang rating ng ‘Bantatay’ noon, so we hope we duplicate that.” He plays Frankie, a great football player who loses his zest for life after his wife and son die in an accident. He becomes a recluse and withdraws from his friends. Hope springs when he sees a team of kiddie footballers beaten and mocked for lack of training and experience. He then becomes their coach and their underdog team is called Futbolilits.
Three talented kid actors head the kiddie cast: Renz Valerio as the orphan Sherwin, Yogo Singh as Kikoy and Isabel ‘Lenlen’ Frias as the bouncy and free-spirited girl Tetang. This colorful show about young athletes will bring excitement about the colorful world of football starting this Monday. Also in the show are Jennylyn Mercado as Raymart’s new love interest, Paolo Contis as the coach of the rival team Razkulits, Angelika de la Cruz as Paolo’s love interest, Nova Villa as Tetang’s grandma, Benjie Paras as Raymart’s sidekick, Daniel Matsunaga as a physical therapist who loves Jennylyn, and Julian Trono as Raymart’s long lost son, Hero.
