Sam Milby is the type of man who'd fight for his ladylove

KC CONCEPCION’s catchy line in “Forever and a Day” is: “Kaya mo bang magmahal ng taong mawawala sa’yo?” What’s her leading man Sam Milby’s reply to this? “Of course, ipaglalaban mo yung pagmamahal mo till the end,” said Sam who’s noticeably a bit more fluent in speaking Tagalog now. “The character I play in the story, Eugene, is very competitive. Hindi basta magpapatalo, and when it comes to love, ganun din ako.”

Forever and a Day” opens today in theatres nationwide. It’s Sam’s fourth film with hitmaker Cathy Garcia Molina, after “Close to You” and “You Are the One” (both 2006), and “You Got Me” (2007), all rom-coms. This is the only drama and Direk Cathy says that Sam delivers so well. “Kung dati, si John Lloyd Cruz lang ang mahal ko (who she has directed in five films), ngayon, mahal ko na rin si Sam dahil he gave me more than what he gave before in our past movies,” she quips.

“I gave my best here and I owe it all to Direk Cathy,” says Sam. “She brings out the best in us ni KC. Whether the movie becomes a blockbuster or not is not as important as the fact that we gave it our all and we hope the viewers get to appreciate our efforts dahil hirap na hirap kami shooting this on location in Lanao del Norte, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro.”
