WE JOINED the team of TV5 for the big promo of its shows in Cebu as invited by PR head Peachy Guioguio. Storm Falcon was battering Manila heavily when we left but when got to Cebu, the sun is shining brightly and intensely. TV5’s promo was held for one whole week, with Kapatid stars holding several mall shows in the Queen City of the South, along with a medical-legal mission offering free consultations and medicines to sick patients and legal assistance for those with problems concerning the law. There was also a booth for love problems and those looking for jobs. The climax was the live staging of Willie Revillame’s “WilTime Big Time” at the 40-hectare reclaimed area where and estimated crowd of 120,000 people attending, including Cebu mayor Mike Rama. Annabelle Rama’s brother, George, was also there. TV5 later hosted an after party at a function room of the new 5-star Radisson Hotel beside SM Cebu where we all stayed. All those involved in the show had a good time with a buffet dinner and lots of singing since a pianist was around accompanying all those who wanted to sing, including Atty. King Reyno, husband of GMA-7 broadcaster Vicky Morales who sings really well. Paolo Bediones accompanied Wendy Valdez on the piano and they did some beautiful music together. A special presscon with the Cebu press people invited was also held, with TV5 amiable exec Bobby Barreiro baring allTV5t’s aggressive plans for the coming months, including a local newscast with local Cebu celebs.
