“Kapag lumalabas po kaming magkakasama, people call us Bagets, Bagets, which means they’re watching the show,” says AJ who’s also been tapped to reprise the Gabby Concepcion role in the TV5 remake of the hit Sharon-Gabby movie, “P.S. I Love You”. Gabby himself, now managed by Viva, has moved to TV5 and will play the role of AJ’s dad in the movie originally played by Eddie Garcia. Playing the Sharon role is Nadine Lustre of Pop Girls who’s also paired with AJ in “Bagets”.
“It’s a big honor para sa amin ni Nadine na mapiling kami ang gaganap sa roles nina Sharon at Gabby in ‘P.S. I Love You’ and we want to thank TV5 and Viva for this,” says AJ, an applied Physics major at UST. He’s in third year, but he took a leave of absence now that he’s busy with in showbiz. “Plano ko pa ring balikan ang studies ko when I get the time.” Does he plan to woo Nadine in real life? “Naku, pareho kaming career muna ang focus, hindi love life.” Is he aware that his dad Cheng Muhlach is branded by some folks as a stage father? “Hindi naman po totoo yon kasi may sakit ang dad ko. Di nga siya masyadong nakakalabas ng bahay.”
