IT WAS ANNOUNCED that Alessandra de Rossi has officially moved to GMA-7 starting with the afternoon soap, “Sinner or Saint”, but how come she’s still seen in ABS-CBN’s new show, “I Dare You”? “That was taped in February pa, nung magkasama pa kami ni Jericho Rosales sa ‘Green Rose’, ngayon lang nila naipalabas na nasa GMA na ko,” she says. “One week lang naman akong guest doon. Sa ‘Sinner or Saint’, matatagalan pa. Nabuntis na ko roon ni Dennis Trillo tapos nakunan na ko at makakalabas na ng jail si Bianca King.”
Her Cannes Filmfest movie, “Busong (Palawan Fate)”, will be shown at the CCP and Greenbelt as a Cinemalaya entry starting July 16. “Sana suportahan ng local viewers kasi very proud ako sa movie. It got a ten-minute standing ovation after our screening sa Cannes. Malaking hirap ang dinanas ko while shooting this in Palawan for more than a week dahil binagyo kami, umakyat sa matataas na bundok, laging brownout sa tulugan namin at dusa yung paglalagay sa’kin ng prosthetic makeup sa role ko bilang babae representing Palawan na puro sugat ang katawan.”
Doing indie films like ‘Busong’ is mainly for her own artistic satisfaction. “Hindi ka kikita ng malaki sa indie, pero ibang fulfilment ang makukuha mo. Sa TV kasi at mainstream films, ang main goal is to please yung gusto ng masang nakararami. Dito, masisiyahan ka dahil yung di mo magawa sa iba, magagawa mo rito at mapapalabas pa sa international festivals. I hope you’ll watch our gala night sa CCP Main Theatre on Wednesday, July 20, a day after my 27th birthday. Nandun kami nina Direk Auraeus Solito.”
