Carmina Villaroel willing to be a stage mom for daughter Cassie

HOSTING ‘AMAZING Cooking Kids’ inspired Carmina Villaroel to enroll in culinary school. “Wala akong hilig magluto noon but my experience working with the kid contestants in our show inspired me,” she says. “Kasi sila, ang babata, but when you taste what they cooked, daig pa nila ang experts. Actually, nauna pa sa’kin si Zoren (Legaspi, her partner) na mag-aral ng culinary arts pero ngayon, I feel I can challenge him na to a cooking showdown.”

“Amazing Cooking Kids” will have its finale on Saturday at 11:15 AM before “Eat Bulaga” and Carmina feels sad as she has grown close to the kids. “Mami-miss ko silang lahat. Each time someone is eliminated, kasama ko sa mga umiiyak. Ngayon, tatlo na lang ang natitira, sina Duday Reyes, Angela Clarke and Ronin Leviste. Kahit sino sa kanila, deserving manalo.”

When asked who he’d like to cook for, Ronin (son of Batangas Vice Gov. Mike Leviste who was there at the presscon acting like a doting stage dad taking fotos of his son) said he’d like to cook for Cassie, the daughter of Carmina who’s his crush. Carmina screams upon hearing this. “Naku, ten years old pa lang yung anak ko. Pero nire-ready ko na rin ang sarili ko sa ganyan. Kailangan, matuto akong i-accept na part of life yan.”

Between her two kids, she says Cassie is the one inclined to showbiz. “The boy, Mavie, sports ang hilig. Puro tennis yun. If ever Cassie would join showbiz, naku, I told Zoren I’ll be the next Annabelle Rama. Siempre, poprotektahan ko yung anak ko.”
