Cherie Gil slaps Jean Garcia

IT’S BEEN reported that Cherie Gil and Jean Garcia are feuding on the set of “Time of Your Life”, the danceserye that will replace “Captain Barbell” on GMA-7 starting Monday, allegedly because Cherie slapped Jean in one scene when she’s not supposed to. “Saan galing yan?” Cherie asks at the show’s presscon. “All I can say is we’re actresses, we do what we’re supposed to do. I play a bitch, real bad, unlike sa ‘Magic Palayok’ na comedy pa. Dito, dark talaga. I didn't do it maliciously or on purpose, it was part of the scene. Mahina na nga ang mga sampal ko ngayon, unlike noong kami ni Sharon Cuneta, hard talaga. I’ve really lost my touch kasi sa ‘Pieta’, si Ryan Agoncillo, sa ilong ko nasampal.”

So there’s no gap between her and Jean? “Why will there be? It’s not true that we don’t talk. We don’t snob each other. We’re grown ups.”

So how did she prepare for her role as Martha, the star dancer in “Time of Your Life”? “There was no time to prepare kasi nag-overlap ito and ‘Magic Palayok’. But I love to dance since I was a kid so when they offered this to me, yes agad kasi dream come true for me to do dancing. I have a dance sequence here na ala-Lady Gaga with the prisoners sa Correctional for women. Ang ganda. But more than the dance scenes here, it’s the drama that’s really draining. Inagaw kasi ni Jean si Raymond Bagatsing sa’kin dito, so I do a lot of crying, then I steal their child, who’ll grow up to be Kris Bernal.”

Has she seen her pregnant niece, Andi Eigenmann? What advice did she give her? “I just saw her last Sunday. My son Rafael kasi is in town from New York and I invited everyone sa bahay for a get together. Andi came. I didn’t give her any advice, just acceptance and I hugged her.”
