Cristine Reyes felt awkward working with Aiko Melendez

CRISTINE REYES’ Ate Ara Mina once feuded with Aiko Melendez over Jomari Yllana. Now, she and Aiko co-star in “Reputasyon”, ABS-CBN’s new afternoon soap that started airing last Monday but only had its presscon last Tuesday since Cristine was abroad. So how was it working together? “Noong una, medyo awkward,” says Cristine. “Kinabahan ako but after a while, okay na kami. She’s really sweet at binigyan pa ko ng cinnamon cakes. Masarap siyang katrabaho, magaling umarte. Most of her scenes are with Rayver Cruz kasi magkapatid sila sa story.”

“Whatever happened then, tapos na yun,” Aiko adds. “Di na namin pinag-usapan yun ni Cristine. Pangit naman if we’d get stuck on that issue, e noon pa yun.”

ABS-CBN’s afternoon block is now called Kapamilya Gold. “Reputasyon” is its first offering. Cristine plays Agnes, a simple lass working for her parents Jaclyn Jose and Lito Pimentel, and younger sister Jill Yulo. Her clean reputation gets tarnished when their governor, Emilio Garcia, husband of Aiko, had a heart attack and fell on top of her. People quickly concluded they’re having an affair. Aside from Rayver, Cristine’s other leading man is Jason Abalos. They’re supported by Deborah Sun , Andre Garcia, Nico Antonio, John James Uy and directors Laurice Guillen and Celso Ad. Castillo who are actors here, directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial.
