Do you care if Nora Aunor returns or not?

OUR CLASSMATES in Cinemalaya are Directors Joel Lamangan, Gil Portes, Maning Borlaza, Joey Reyes, Ces Evangelista, Ronald Carballo, Girlie Rodis, and Mother Lily who has seen almost all the entries and brings “baon” of sandwiches, chips and drinks for everyone. Mother Lily is now really famous on her own as fans keep on asking to take their photo with her. We had a great time exchanging our views with all of them about the films we saw.

We got to talk to Maning Borlaza and we couldn’t believe it when he told us he’s already 76 years old. He’ll certainly put to shame some of the 50 years old we know. He has managed to maintain his slim frame and his face is nearly creaseless. To top it all, he says he had a heart attack 25 years ago and doctors wanted to perform a triple bypass on him but he resisted. He dedicated his life to the Lord and his heart has never given him a problem since then. Amazing grace indeed!

Suzette Ranillo approached our table last Wednesday after the screening of “Amok” where she plays a pregnant vendor who delivers her baby inside a jeepney. We asked her if her friend Nora Aunor is really coming home Thursday morning. She said “No, may mga dapat pa siyang ayusin. Di pa alam kung kelan siya makakauwi.”

The people on our table later took a poll among ourselves: Are you excited with Ate Guy’s comeback? We won’t tell you the answer anymore, but here’s hoping her comeback will more successful than that of Gabby Concepcion.
