Doc Ferds Recio leaving Born to be Wild to study abroad

DOC FERDS RECIO says hosting “Born to be Wild” since November 2007 changed his life. Now a household name as a wildlife rescuer, the adventurous veterinarian’s life from quiet clinic work turned to the rough and tough field work that has become his life for the past three and a half years. Today, Doc Ferds’ work as an on-call vet already fits him like a glove. His life involves getting emergency calls at 2 a.m. and packing his bags in a matter of minutes to respond to wildlife emergencies. He has aided numerous animal rehabilitations and rescue missions from wounded pythons to trapped mantas in fish cages and stranded marine animals. Doc Ferds is set to embark on a new adventure. He will take a leave from the program to pursue higher studies abroad. But viewers and fans need not worry because the wild vet is sure to continue his advocacy on wildlife protection and conservation. Don’t miss Doc Ferds’ greatest moments on BORN TO BE WILD’s special send-off episode tomorrow nigt after Saksi on GMA-7.
