GABBY EIGENMANN is having a good time playing his villain role in “Munting Heredera”. “Naiiba ang challenge nito kasi may touch of comedy,” he says. “Suwabe lang ang atake. And it’s nice working in tandem with Ynez Veneracion as my partner.”
Did he get to see the interview with his dad, Mark Gil, about her sister Andi’s pregnancy? “Yes. I can’t miss it kasi dad kept on calling, oh, manood ka, ha. He handled it well, with diplomacy, pati yung paglalabas niya ng sama ng loob niya.”
How did he console Andi himself? “Right after I learned about it, pinuntahan ko siya sa taping niya and assured her that if she needs anything, she can count on me, nasa likod niya ko. I’m closer to her than to Max (Maxine, full sister of Sid Lucero who’s also preggy) kasi Andi always communicates with me, O, kuya... As for Max, I’m still waiting for her to invite me into her life. Nandito lang ako. I’m the eldest sa’ming six na anak ni dad and at one time or another, naalagaan ko sila when I lived with my dad and they’d stay with us. Nahugasan ko ang mga puwet nila kaya halos lahat, they don’t hesitate to come to me when they have problems.”
How is he and his wife, Apple, who already had two kids with Joko Diaz when they hooked up? “We’re okay. Their two kids are Josh and Gab, boy and girl, 15 and 13. They’ve never seen their father. Our own kids naman are both boys, William and Matthew, 9 and 7.” Does he really want to formally adopt Josh and Gab? “Yes, gusto rin nila kasi they grew up with me and the whole Eigenmann family loves them very much. With God’s grace, sana, one of these days, makapag-usap kami ni Joko about it at pumayag siya.”
He said his family was against it when he fell in love with Apple. “I can’t blame them kasi I’m a bachelor and she comes with a package of two kids. They’re worried it might just be hard for me. But I knew what I was getting into. I really believe in true love and when I met Apple, I knew I want to spend the rest of my life with her at kahit maraming kumontra noon, we’ve been happy together for 13 years now.”
