Kean Cipriano serious with acting but not leaving Calla Lily band

KEAN CIPRIANO is happy his first movie is with Eugene Domingo, the Cinemalaya entry “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank”, where he plays a young director who dreams of making a film that will win in the Oscars and he wants Eugene to be his star. “Masarap katrabaho si Uge,” he says. In what way? “Sa kahit anong aspeto ng masarap. I just auditioned for this role without expecting makukuha ko and next thing I knew, I’m already a part of it.” So is he focusing on acting now? “I’m in the process of discovering the art of acting and I‘m enjoying it. I took acting workshops with Leo Martinez at ang laking tulong nun sa’kin para maging maayos ako. I realized to be a good actor, you have to be a good person first. Pero first priority ko pa rin ang music. I’ve never left my band, Calla Lily, like what others think. Weekends ko, band time pa rin. We’re now doing a tour and making a new album.”

On TV5, he’s doing “Magic Bagsik” and “Sugo Mga Kapatid”. Both his exes, Danita Paner and Arci Munoz are also Kapatid stars. “Okay na kami ni Arci. Nagbabatian kami. Minahal ko yun and I’m happy for her break sa TV5. Ganundin for Danita. Natutuwa ako kapag nakikita ko sila ni JC De Vera. It’s really funny that we’re all together in one station. As for me, I’m loveless right now.”
