Manny Pacquiao's game show trounced other shows in the ratings

THE DEBUT of Manny Pacquiao’s “Manny Many Prizes” last Sunday was a big hit, giving away P2 million worth of gifts and prizes including a house and lot, and earning Manny the title “Ang Pambansang Ninong”. Viewers were touched by Pacman’s decision to give 61-year old John Roldan the house-and-lot prize despite his wrong choice in the final round, as according to the People’s Champ “walang uuwing luhaan sa show”. Another big winner for the night was James Villanueva, a pedicab driver, who was awarded with a “pangkabuhayan package” worth 60,000 pesos. It rated a high 16.3% against TV Patrol’s 9.4% and Will Time Big Time’s 10.7%. Manny wants to thank co-hosts Paolo Contis, Rhian Ramos, Isabelle Daza, Gladys Guevarra, Onyok Velasco, and Boobay for their invaluable contribution to the show’s success. Tonight, to accommodate the huge crowds, the show will be held at a bigger venue, the Cuneta Astrodome. Manny no longer wants to comment on the allegations of his detractors that Willie R is a better host than him. He also doesn’t make a big thing of his being rejected as a member of the Manila Polo Club in Makati near Forbes Park where he’ll soon be residing in a house that he’s having renovated for his family. “Sa positive na lang tayo,” he says. “Wag na sa negative.”
