Munting Heredera stars happy with the high rating of the show

WE JOINED the press visit to GMA-7’s hit drama, “Munting Heredera”, held at the old mansion used to be owned by LVN Pictures matriarch Dona Narcisa “Sisang” de Leon along Broadway corner 9th avenue. It was our first time to visit the place and we were awed by its old world charm. “Ang laki nito,” says Luz Valdes, a former LVN property launched in “Chinita” in the mid-50s who’s now 71 years old and plays Gloria Romero’s trusted assistant in “Munting Heredera”. “This is half a hectare with its huge garden and swimming pool. Bahagi ito ng aking kabataan. Lagi kaming narito pag birthday ni Donya Sisang. But this is not owned by the de Leons anymore. Yung nakabili naman dito, they’re not using it. Basta they respect the place at di ginagalaw.”

“At yung kuwarto ni Donya Sisang upstairs, sobrang laki,” says Gloria. “I’m using it now as my room in the show. When I was in Sampaguita, I used to live on 7th St. at nadadaan ako rito and I wonder, ano kayang hitsura sa loob? I didn’t know magte-taping pala ko rito balang araw.”

We got to interview four “Munting Heredera” stars with separate issues: Camille Prats, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Gabby Eigenmann and Ynez Veneracion. They’re all happy that their show is rating so high even when it’s not a telefantasya that’s the forte of GMA-7. They’re jubilant that the show has been extended for five more weeks.
