Paolo Contis on being Manny Pacquiao's Hawi Boy

PAOLO CONTIS has three regular shows on GMA-7 now. He plays villain to Raymart Santiago in “Futbolilits” and helps host “Manny Many Prizes” on Saturdays and “I-Shine” on Sundays with Mikee Cojuangco. “Kailangang kumayod, my family is growing,” he says.

Paolo says he is a hands-on dad to his and Lian Paz’ two daughters, Xonia (1 year 3 months) and Xalene (3 months old.) He says Xonia is so happy with her baby sister. “Akala yata niya, manika niya,” he laughs.

Any plans of tying the knot soon? “We have to save up for that. Baka in two years. As of now, nag-iipon na rin ako for toddler’s school ni Xonia. Ang mahal pala nun. More than P100,000. Para ka nang nagpapaaral ng college.”

How come there’s a story that he and Lian’s relationship is quite stormy? “Di totoo yan. I’m helping her put up her own business. Kailangan, tulungan kami kasi dalawa ng anak namin at mahirap ang buhay. Balak din niyang bumalik sa showbiz. Siguro, pag medyo malaki-laki na yung mga anak namin.”

What can say about some folks saying he's Manny Pacquiao's Hawi Boy or alalay. “Okay lang. Naging good friends kami while doing ‘Show Me Da Manny’. He took me to watch his fights sa States. I’m glad sinama niya ko uli dito sa ‘Manny Many Prizes’. I’m enjoying hosting this kind of game show dahil marami kaming natutulungang mahihirap na tao to improve on their lives.”
