Rocco Nacino gets good projects

ROCCO NACINO is glad he didn’t turn down “Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa” even if he had an initial reluctance to accept it due to its gay undertones of an implied romance with Paulo Avelino. Nothing overtly gay was really shown in the film and everything was just hinted at or underplayed it all came out so tastefully on screen. Now, his sensitive performance is being praised, along with his dancing, which is very timely since his new TV show, the dance serye “Time of My Life”, is about to be shown replacing “Captain Barbell”. Mother Lily also became curious about him after watching “Sayaw” and now wants to sign him up as a Regal contract star. Mother Lily is really so pleased with “Sayaw” she also gave its director Alvin Yapan P100,000 and asked him to work for Regal.

Meantime, the TV drama that Rocco has made with Lovi Poe, “Mistaken Identity”, started airing yesterday on GMA-7 and will be shown for four Saturdays just before “Eat Bulaga”. Filmed on location in Calauit Island in Palawan with its wild animals, Rocco plays a native boy, Sinag, who a visiting female journalist, Lovi, thinks is the reclusive ethnic prince of the island. They get attracted to each other but it becomes a case of mistaken identity since the real prince is Luis Alandy, son of the queen (Gloria Diaz) who also falls for Lovi. This beautiful romance proves that love comes from the most unexpected places and really knows no boundaries.
