Tirso Cruz III still believes that Nora Aunor can make sa successful comeback

TIRSO CRUZ III won several best supporting actor awards for his performance as a student activist turned government apologist in “Sigwa”. He has just finished two films that might win him more trophies: “Deadline” where he plays an abusive governor who orders the murders of mediamen and “Bisperas”, a Cinemalaya entry directed by Jeffrey Jeturian where he plays a lay minister who has problems with his family due to a gambling addiction. On TV, after playing the gay Sarsi in GMA-7’s “I Heart You Pare”, he now plays a brilliant doctor who owns a hospital whose only son, Gerald Anderson, turns out to be a slow learner in ABS-CBN’s “Budoy”. After his love team with Nora Aunor waned in the mid-70s, it became the common belief that the male partner is usually left behind by his ka-love team. But Pip came back with a vengeance in “Till We Meet Again” in the mid-80s and started winning acting awards in “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit” in 1989. He also became visible on TV with “Heredero” and was never idle again. In contrast, it’s Ate Guy who retired and has been jobless for some time now. The tables have been turned, so to speak. “But I have no doubt Guy can make a comeback anytime,” he says at the presscon of “Bisperas”. “Laging may puwang ang showbiz para sa mahusay na aktres na gaya niya. Ang problema nga lang, nandun siya sa States. Dapat talaga, bumalik na siya rito.”
