TV 5 NEWS ANCHORS led by Raffy and Erwin Tulfo, Paolo Bediones, Cheryl Cosim and Amelyn Veloso all went to Cebu to personally welcome their newest counterparts in TV5’s local newscast there, “Aksyon Bisaya” that starts airing on Monday, July 18: Atty. Ruphil Banoc and Darlanne Sino Cruz. Ruphil (from the names of his parents Ruperto and Hilaria) finished communications at the Visayan State U, law at Univ. of San Carlos and development communication at San Jose Recoletos. He’s station manager of DYHP, writes a column for Sun Star Cebu and a college professor. Darlanne used to be with GMA Cebu as commentator and she’s glad TV5 now got her as an anchor. Both of them are still single.
Paolo Bediones says that TV5 news personnel are trained to rescue people in need and not just to deliver the news. “May training kami on how to give first aid and help people in accidents and fires,” he says. “Kasi, sa news coverage, madalas na nauunang dumating ang media. Hindi puedeng manonood na lang kayo and wait for an ambulance, which is why our newscast is called ‘Aksyon’, kasi uma-aksyon kami talaga para makatulong.”
