Winners of the 7th Cinemalaya Filmfest

CONGRATS to the winners in the major categories of the 7th Cinemalaya Filmfest.

Best pictures: “Babae sa Septic Tank” (New Breed Category)
“Bisperas” (Directors Showcase).
Both films are produced by Atty. Joji Alonso, making her the true Indie Queen!

Best directors: Marlon Rivera, “Septic Tank”, and Auraeus Solito, “Busong”

Best actresses: Eugene Domingo as herself in “Septic Tank” and Raquel Villavicencio as the beleaguered wife of a gambler in “Bisperas”

Best actors: Edgar Allan Guzman as the young man pining for a lost love in “Ligo na U Lapit na Me”, and Bembol Roco as the only sane character in “Isda”

Best supporting actresses: Shamaine Centenera as the caring daughter who’s a closet lesbian in “Nino”, and Julia Clarete as the sister who goes ballistic after losing her laptop in “Bisperas”

Best supporting actors: Art Acuna as the good-for-nothing son in “Nino”, and Jaime Pebanco as the farmer whose son joins the Abu Sayyaf in “Patikul”

Best screenplay: Chris Martinez, “Septic Tank”.

There’s no best screenplay winner in the Directors Showcase category.
