XIAN LIM came home from San Francisco, California in 2008 to try his luck in showbiz and he’s glad that he’s never without an assignment since then. So far, he has done soaps like “Eva Fonda”, “My Girl”, “Katorse”, “My Only Hope”, “Rubi” and “Agimat” for ABS-CBN. He also guested in shows of other channels like “Midnight DJ” of TV 5 and “Maynila” of GMA-7. He has also done two mainstream films, “Forever and a Day” and “Tumbok”. He now plays one of Kim Chiu’s leading men in the new ABS soap, “Binondo Girl”, and he’s in Studio 23’s first kotse-serye, “Sparkada Trip”, where he plays Alex Agbayani, the leader of a group of youngsters who go around town in a Chevrolent Spark to search for his missing girlfriend, Nora (Helga Krapf.) “The show is like a mystery as we try to find out where Nora is,” he says. “In the end, she has a big surprise for us.”
Xian’s edge over other actors is his height, since he’s more than 6 ft. tall and, since he’s an athlete who used to play for the UE basketball team, he also has a good physique. But he’s very conservative and doesn’t see himself going sexy, like posing for underwear ads. “I’m not comfortable magpakita ng katawan ko sa publiko,” he says. Even in his taste for girls, he’s also old fashioned. “I want someone like a conservative provinciana with good values.”
He’s happy to endorse Chevrolet Spark in “Sparkada Trip” that starts airing tomorrow at 5 PM. “It’s a small car but has a big legroom, which is important for someone with long legs like me. Also, it’s very affordable at only P518,888.”
