Lauren Uy introduced in My Binondo Girl

BEING INTRODUCED in “My Binondo Girl” is new actress Lauren Uy, who happens to be the younger sister of Liz Uy, former girlfriend of John Lloyd Cruz who was also linked to Pres. Pinoy. She’s 21 years old and plays the role of Amethyst, half sister of Kim Chiu. Liz was being urged then to join showbiz also but she resisted the idea. It’s good Lauren agreed to be an “artista”. “Sumasama ko sa Ate Liz ko in showbiz events,” she says. “She’s close to Ate Kris Aquino and ABS execs like Biboy Arboleda and Sir Deo (Endrinal). Tapos they were kidding, why don’t you join showbiz, may hitsura ka namang bata ka. Ayun, they made me join a workshop at nagustuhan ko naman.”

What if she’d click as an actress and she’d be paired with Liz’s ex-BF Lloydie? “Sa’kin okay lang, walang problema. Sino ba ko para ako pa ang tatanggi? E, si John Lloyd, would he agree?”

Aren’t they close? “We’re friends naman kasi hindi naman sila naghiwalay ng Ate Liz ko nang may bad blood. He’s okay with all our family.”

Has she seen him in ABS? “Not yet. No chance kasi we shot in different locations. But I’m excited to him as we haven’t seen each other for so long. When I do, I’ll hug him. I’m just thankful na first show ko pa lang, puro magagaling na mga kasama ko like Cherry Pie Picache, Gina Pareno, tapos primetime drama pa ang ‘Binondo Girl’, so I feel so blessed talaga.”
