Mark Bautista reaping plaudits as Crisostomo Ibarra in “Noli Me Tangere"

MARK BAUTISTA is ecstatic that his performance as Crisostomo Ibarra in “Noli Me Tangere, The Musical” is getting good reviews. “I’m really nervous as this is my first time to try theatre,” he says. “Buti na lang, positive ang reaction ng mga tao so now I want to try a Broadway musical after this.”

Just before the show’s run started at the CCP, he treated himself to a backpack tour of Europe. “I toured various cities in less than two weeks by train. In Paris and Monaco, I stayed with friends. Then Milan, Florence, Rome, naghotel na ko. It’s Assissi that I enjoyed the most. Then back to Paris for Manila. When I got there, naiwan ako ng plane so I slept at the airport. It was fun, adventure talaga.”

Mark has launched his new album, “Nagmamahal”, with original songs and revivals like “Buong Puso”, “Kahit May Mahal Ka ng Iba”, and “Mayron Bang Muli” by Vehnee Saturno, “Ikaw Lang sa Buhay Ko” and “Pag-ibig Kong Ito” by Tito Cayamanda, “Buksan Mo” by Chuckie Dreyfus, plus two of his own pop rock compositions, “Okay Lang” and “Bakit”. “Bakit” is now used as the theme song of GMA-7’s TV series “Gourmet”.
