MARVIN AGUSTIN says he’s been with Claudine Barretto at ABS-CBN for the longest time but they were never paired together. “Ka-love team ko kasi noon, si Jolina Magdangal, kaya kami lagi ang magkapareha,” he says. “Si Claudine naman were paired with the likes of Diether Ocampo, the late Rico Yan, Piolo Pascual, but never with me. Now, I finally get to work with her in GMA-7’s ‘Iglot’ at ang sarap pala niyang katrabaho. Kapag kaeksena mo siya, she’s so good kaya mahahawa ka sa kanya. Makakahugot ka ng emosyon mo from her. She’s so cooperative, even in our kissing scenes. What’s more, pati si Jolens, for the first time, may eksenang siyang sabik na sabik sa’kin at sinugod ako ng halik para i-seduce ko. Ang feeling ko nga, ang tagal niyang naipon ang feelings niya for me kaya fully motivated siya, pinagbigyan ko na lang,” he laughs.
How does he feel that Jolens is now engaged to Mark Escueta? “I’m so happy for them, malapit na silang ikasal. Jolens will always be special for me kasi nakatatak na sa tao ang love team namin at nagkaroon ng panahong napasaya namin sila together. I’m really so happy na up to now, nakakapagtrabaho pa rin kami ng magkasama tulad dito sa ‘Iglot’.”
Marvin is also happy that his film with Director Marilou Diaz Abaya, “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig”, where he plays a priest afflicted with a terminal illness blessed by the Virgin Mary, will finally be shown in September in time for the celebration of the Virgin of Penafrancia festival in Naga to be released by Star Cinema.
