NORA AUNOR arrived safely from the U.S. yesterday morning but wags who wrote that John Rendez is with her were proven false. Earlier, it was reported that Ate Guy’s previous plan to come home didn’t push through because she wasn’t allowed to take Dear John with her and she’s insistent that they should return home together. But yesterday, Ate Guy arrived with friend Suzette Ranillo, not with John Rendez, who just saw her off at the airport in L.A. Now wags say she has no choice but to travel without him as he has a pending case of illegal possession of firearms here. He’s already been sentenced to four years in prison because of this but he was not able to serve it as he left with Ate Guy for the U.S. They now further say that it’s Ate Guy’s special mission to iron out whatever kinks there might be for John so he can come home without fear of being arrested here. Meantime, diehard Guy and Pip fans who are requesting TV5 to pair them together in Ate Guy’s comeback series will be disappointed to know that their wish won’t be granted. It was the plan of TV5 to get Tirso Cruz III to play her ill-fated husband in “Donya Negra” (she’ll be wearing black all throughout the show as she’s in mourning), but it turned out Pip already signed up with ABS-CBN to play the doctor dad of Gerald Anderson in his new soap, “Budoy”. We honestly believe, though, that Ate Guy’s ex-hubby Christopher de Leon will be more than a good enough replacement for Pipo who’s really so busy these days even on the big screen.
