Perla Bautista plays a senile teacher in Ang Maestra

WE’RE GLAD our good friend Perla Bautista is so busy these days. After being in the pilot week of “Amaya”, she played an important role in TV5’s “The Sisters”. Now that it’s ending to be replaced by “Utol Kong Hoodlum”, she’s back to GMA-7 playing the adoptive mother of Jolina Magdangal in “Iglot”. “Mabait talaga si Lord sa akin,” she beams. “Hindi ako nawawalan ng show.”

Even on the big screen, after playing the title role in “Hermana Fausta”, an educator in Quezon, she now plays another title role in “Ang Maestra”. “It’s the story of an aging teacher na naging ulyanin at kinulong sa doghouse ng apo niyang si Biboy Ramirez. It’s directed by Joven Tan and a tribute to teachers. Kasama ko rito sina Dennis Padilla, Jenine Desiderio and Dexter Doria.”
