Ryza Cenon doesn't mind supporting Kris Bernal in Time of My Life

RYZA CENON looks very pretty with her new shorter hairdo and sexy getup in “Time of My Life” which is rating very well. She plays the role of Rochelle, a pole dancer. “Siempre, new show, kaya new look din,” she says. She’s the female winner in Starstruck II but she now just supports Starstruck IV winner Kris Bernal who plays the leading lady torn between Mark Herras and Rocco Nacino. Also, she already played one of the leads in “Machete”, but now she’s relegated to playing a supporting role again as the best friend of Kris in the show.

How does she feel about this? “Okay lang, walang kaso yun,” she shrugs. “I won’t accept this kung may reklamo ko. I’m now very mature sa outlook ko sa buhay. Ang importante pa rin, may trabaho, kaysa nakatunganga lang sa bahay. Also, maganda naman yung role ko. Bagong challenge for me yung pole dancing so I really trained for this para magampanan ko nang tama.”

Her runner up then, LJ Reyes, has won a best supporting actress award in the Cinemalaya last year. Would she be willing to do an indie film also? “Why not? Si Rocco at si Paulo Avelino nga, gumawa rin ng indie film about dancing (“Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”) at ang dami nilang natanggap na papuri. So okay lang sa’kin mag-indie, basta demanding ang role.”

What if she’d ask to play a lesbian shown kissing another woman? “Okay lang. Si Natalie Portman nga sa ‘Black Swan’ may ganung scene, nanalo ng Oscar.”

Who would she like to do a lesbian scene with? “Siguro si Chynna Ortaleza, kasi we’re good friends at magiging comfortable ako sa kanya.”
