Sid Lucero figured in a freak accident

SID LUCERO proved he’s a real trouper when he figured in a freak accident on the set of “Amaya” in Morong, Bataan a few days ago. In a scene with an actor who plays his slave, Wendell Salgado, one of Sid’s ears unintentionally gets caught on the gold ornaments worn by Wendell in his arms, ripping it. It was bleeding profusely so he had to be rushed to the hospital. He had to be stitched up three times to stop the bleeding.

Director Mac Alejandre told he can go home up to rest but Sid chose to return to the set and continue taping all his scenes scheduled for the day. They just had to hide his bandaged ear from the camera so viewers won’t see it on screen. Meantime, Gardo Versoza who plays Sid’s father in the series, has also just come out of the hospital after his bout with typhoid fever. He’ll be reporting back to the set for taping tomorrow.

On August 30 and 21, the cast of “Amaya” led by title-roler Marian Rivera will fly to Davao to promote the show there. “Amaya” turns more exciting this week when chief babaylan Hilway (Angi Ferro) blackmails Amaya and threatens to tell Rajah Mangubat (Gardo) that she’s the woman born with a twin snake he’s searching for. Amaya would have to kill someone for her so she’d keep quiet. Meantime, Marikit (Rochelle Pangilinan), gets pregnant but her mom Lamitan (Gina Alajar) wants her to abort the baby and split from husband Bagani (Sid.)
