YSSA ALVAREZ, 14, is the exact carbon copy of her mom Almira Muhlach. Viva Records is launching her in the album “Addicted to Acoustic 3: Yssa” that has 14 remakes of pop hits of Lady Gaga and Rihanna as well as originals, one of which, “All I Need is You”, is her own composition. The carrier sing, “Best Friend”, has a music video pairing her with Josh Padilla of TV5’s hit series, “Bagets”. The eldest of 3 kids of Almira and cage Bong Alvarez, she says it’s her Lolo Cheng Muhlach who told her to try showbiz, even if her parents were against it as they want her to focus on her studies first.
Is it true her parents have broken up? “Hindi po, they’re okay now,” she says. “But there was a time, siguro four years ago, nagkahiwalay sila dahil sa mga problema, but they got back with each other. My dad is now into construction and is a sports consultant. Si mom naman still acts, part siya ng ‘Bagets’ sa TV5 as mother ni Meg Imperial. I really hope it will stay that way na okay sila lagi.”
